March through May One of the best windows to visit. Spring break brings crowds in March but April and May are ideal — warm weather in the 75 to 85°F range, water warming up nicely, excellent dolphin activity, and lighter tourist traffic than summer. Sunsets are spectacular. This is a favorite time of year for private boat charters out of Clearwater.
June through August Peak summer. Water temperatures reach 84 to 88°F and Clearwater Beach is at its busiest. Afternoon thunderstorms are almost a daily occurrence — typically building between 2 and 4pm and clearing by evening.
